Correct. Note that it's not just magicdev that does this - there are several apps. The autorun feature is likely to stay in one form or another. "Never say never" is what we say about removing magicdev/autorun... Supermount has different goals than magicdev/autorun. Supermount allows one to remove a CD-ROM, pop in another, and access the data without having to mount/umount. This still does not (as far as I know) produce any event signal to the user interface that a disk change has occurred.
