Oh, I'm not a doctor, but I'd say by you having osteopenia, that Dr. Blevins is right on the mark by thinking your estrogen levels are questionable. I mean, perhaps that one single blood test, they may have been in the "normal range", but the dexa scan shows the damage. I've heard of the drug you are being prescribed, and I hope it brings your levels up quickly! I think it is important to look at the entire clinical picture, and not just look at blood labs, and I think your endoc understand this and I think that is why he tagged the estrogen as "questionable"... Questionable in light of the osteopenia... the lab may say one thing, but the physical manifestiation of the disease says another. |
