It may have something to do with the fact that it is a .ico file. How about using a 32x32 favicon.png file? You might need to name it favicon.ico even though it is a PNG, though.

mhhh I have to see if this is a common problem ... at least on Safari.
You can see the original image in sources, and looks good ... could be
a browser/platform problem.

Another test, can you try to move the icon of the left on address bar
on the desktop, to see if in this case looks good ?
