Sure. Although I'm not sure if I have the conditions to reproduce the 
problem
again since. I cleared out the download directory  on my current BE (snv95)
and the checksumming problem doesn't occur anymore.
My most recent attempt to update off osol-re.sfbay got passed the 
checksumming
problem but failed in rebuilding the pkg index in the new BE:
