It looks like the OpenJDK project is based on the GNU GPL (v2) license.
Since Sun still distributes the 'proprietary' one, I'd assume we would
want 'open' to be in the name explicitly. However, that does create the
issue that users may try to install both at the same time and I imagine
they share the same directories/files.
