It's an IB driver - the driver for an HCA, specifically for the
hermon/ConnectX hca.
If you do a modinfo on nevada you'll find (for x64 anyway):
wave192 43 =>cat /etc/release
Solaris Express Community Edition snv_116 X86

Assembled 01 June 2009
Id Loadaddr Size Info Rev Module Name
160 fffffffff7fb5000 3b118 317 1 hermon (ConnectX IB Driver)
and considerably smaller than previous HCA drivers:
(from a different nevada system):
modinfo | grep vor
95 ffffffffef9e6000 69c30 51 1 tavor (Tavor Driver - IB Updates 3)
We have a good number of people who are or will be running OpenSolaris
and will be expecting that IB will run out of the box. If we can I'd
like to have the hermon driver and the associated framework installed by
default on OpenSolaris.
Thanks
Eric
(I'm not sure if the tavor driver already installs by default)
Not tiny, but smaller than a number of other drivers.

In that case, how/what process do I follow to make sure that (in this
case a driver) is part of the initial install on OpenSolaris as well
as on Nevada? I have looked through the OpenSolaris pages and can't
find it - if someone can point me to it, I'll follow it up.
In general that happens automatically as well as we add the obvious
drivers but we don't yet have an official process to request this in
general (it's coming).
What sort of driver is this?
