XP or Vista won't see the 4Gb, even if you use /maxmem or /pae. My test on Win2k3 Enterprise 32bit edition will work since it uses the PAE kludge. To be fair, Linux 32bit can use PAE too. But to paraphrase Linus, just use a 64bit Linux, instead of using PAE.
