We had some problems last year in the September time frame (I think). Eventually they concluded that the problem was not in the house and agreed to send out a tech. We actually got two techs, but very knowledgeable. They tested the cables in several places, replaced a gizmo in the demark box, and there was still a problem. Finally the tech decided he needed to go up on the pole and look at the tap. What he found was probably the original tap from back in the mid '90s when the cable company at the time did the initial installation. The connections were pretty corroded. He had to call his boss for permission, to change it since it feeds the rest of the folks down the street from us. When he did all our problems went away, one of which was scratchy audio on the cable TV music channels. It seems like the techs in the field do know pretty much what they're doing, as opposed to the phone support and the folks in the store. -- Regards, Dick Steffens _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list PLUG@lists.pdxlinux.org http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
