DNS doesn't take up disk space much ( probably < 5MBytes) but it takes up
*A LOT* of memory to get a decent performance especially for sites with
high DNS traffic. As for the MTA, if you're going to configure it as a
relay (forward only, no local mailboxes) a 2 GB mail queue is already big
enough and you could drop the need for the second disk. OTOH if you're
going to host mailboxes also, you could dedicate the second harddisk
for the user's mailboxes. Additionally, the main memory should be at least
256MB (but this depends on the load).
what we usually do here is
root 1GB
/var 1.5 GB
/home 1GB
then we set our swap at the end of each of the disks. our rule of
thumb here is (for main memories < 512MB)
partition size = 1.5 * physical mem / number of disks
if you're going to install x on the unit (which i don't really think is
necessary) you have to add a 1 GB /usr partition and you could drop the
root to around 800MB
