Of the particular computer I'm finding a parallel port NIC for, yes,
they're busted. No, it's not a matter of configuring the drivers. They
don't work on Winblows, either. The controller is detected fine, but a
loose connection somewhere prevents the cards from maintaining connection
with the controller and the rest of the system. Some "magic positions"
work, but they are very unstable and slight movements in the machine
disconnect them. Not very good for the application I'm thinking of using
the laptop for. (Everyday use)
