Unless you're doing IP forwarding (or rather IP masq) I think you would
need that.

can your remote PPP users ping their peer address? if not.. something's
seriously screwed elsewhere. If they CAN, then it's prolly just a routing
issue.
suggest you use portslave instead of hanging mgetty's all over the place.
easier to setup, easier to account (just in case).
