It depends. If you have one of the newer motherboards that actually supports DDR SDRAM then obviously there is no need to upgrade anything. Read your motherboard manuals; if there is any mention there of DDR SDRAM then you'll probably be fine. Otherwise, it's time to buy a new motherboard... :) Most of the more modern Athlon boards support it, as do some of the more recent Pentium III motherboards. As for Pentium IV motherboards, apart from the controversial VIA mobo that Intel is trying to litigate out of existence at Rambus' behest, no such luck. -- Rafael R.
