Mostly, because "I can".  Actually, I'm not really sure about that too
:P  Probably why it appeals to me so much-- it's something new to try
out.

And KDE's great and all, but sometimes I feel it's too busy with buttons
and menus (mainly because of me), and most of all, because it popped up
in my life already complex.  This time I'd like to start simple, then
just add features along the way.  Also, that way I'd understand my
desktop from the inside out.

While the Really Important Stuff are mostly done using terminals, I'd
like a complete desktop, with the menus and gui things I need within
easy access, all the while still being lightweight.  And of course, for
that desktop look that's my own ;)
