My, my, you're committing another fallacy again [if MS would make software for linux or make a distro it would be open source!!!]. Your conclusion doesn't follow the premise. MS isn't compelled to produce Open Source software. Nor is anyone compelled to do open-source anyway.[I'm assuming that everyone's complying with licenses, so if MS would touch GPL'd code they'd abide by its terms as much as other people do with other software licensed in other licenses - be it "shared source", BSD or whatever] I've mentioned in my previous email that MS programmers are among the best and brightest this world has produced, and I won't dispute this [it's a given fact that they only hire the best]. MS is already offering "peeking to source code" via their shared source initiative. But reading the license further (yes I've read the license in its entirety, and have consulted some of my lawyer relatives to interpret it) that this is akin to a non-disclosure agreement. You can look - but you can't use it for commercial purposes or even internal company usage. You can only use it for non-commercial purposes [personal use, academia] -- Paolo Alexis Falcone [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
