Then why not go the whole nine yards and simply use ssh?  It's like
getting a circumcision -> you either go all the way or fscking forget it.

Cmon, let's cut the crap here.  Telnet has no place in a secure network as
a primary remote shell tool.  You can use it to probe interfaces fine, but
as a remote shell, please let's all not even consider it!
