Well, i did say "average" and not "low-cost" power supply. For me, average
power supply would be:
Antec TruePower True330
Enermax 300W EG301P series
Kingwin KWI-350W
Thermaltake Silent PurePower series
Those are the "low end" of the "high end" PS makers for the desktop anyways.
First the PS fan stops, then if you are not
monitoring it, the heat will take its toll on the internal components
of the PS.
That's why i implement my own mod scheme on my desktop, remove the 2
power supply fans of my PS and put a 120mm smart fan with speed
detection and connect it to the motherboard directly. That way, i can
monitor it and do subsequent action if the rpm is 0 or low.
Where can one get these smart fans? Thanks
