Well, as far as I know, HPT and other cheap "RAID" controllers really
don't give you that good performance. Even if you use them in Windows.
:( Actually, these cards have the RAID part performed by the driver,
they just have a way so that it ca be transparent to the OS. I suggest
that you don't use the card's built-in hardware RAID and just use
software RAID. Or the alternative is that you should buy a real hardware
RAID card for ATA/SATA hard drives like 3ware Escalade.
