Tried it once. I dont think there was a significant increase in browsing 
speed.  Back then, my connection was ~50kbps with 4 clients IIRC.

Also, my machine (our gateway, local dns cache, squid) wasn't that fast.
(Athlon Tbird 1.4ghz with 256MB RAM and ATA100 harddrive)
IMO, it's a waste of effort.
