Michael, I hadn't thought at all about keyboards. What I have here (among a couple of relevant choices) is Generic 102-key (Intl) PC. And Xfce4 settings has an option to set 'left win' as the Compose key. My keyboards are actually the 'mini' type, the same size and layout as on a laptop. Thanks, Rich
