Rolling back to the 6.3.0. nightly from 28 May (which was my "stable" nightly) with MIP Beta rc4 works fine. A full clear and rescan and all files are mixable.
My interpretation is that something has changed in Slimserver to cause the problems that some of us are having. There's nothing I can see in any of the d_scan or d_musicmagic flags which shows a problem - Slimserver seems to be calling for and receiving the MIP file paths fine.
