Thanks. This looks interesting but it's late here "up top" and I'm
headed to bed. I'll take a closer look tomorrow. One thing I see,
however, that may be contributing to the behavior you're experiencing
with the hardware muting is that you appear to be using a volume
increment of +/-1 in the SqueezeCtrl app. I'm sure you have your reasons
for this but could you temporarily change it to 5 and let me know what
difference, if any, it makes in the muting behavior? If it seems to be
more responsive, try lowering it to 3 and see how that works. Just to
give you an idea of what I'm looking at, it takes a client volume change
of approximately +/-3 to result in the minimum 1dB of difference needed
to affect a volume change in your AVR, so there are a whole lot of +/-1
requests that result in nothing but unnecessary network congestion and
cpu usage. I'll take a look at the code tomorrow or Monday to see if
there might be a way to alleviate the situation programatically but,
regardless of that, my recommendation for the minimum volume increment
in Zone 1 (main), where the volume is maintained in 0.5dB increments, is
2. For Zones 2-4, it should be at least 4, and preferably 5. Let me know
what you find. Thanks.
