OK, you might try beta16. I've only tested it lightly (mostly for When Off and When Playing savers) but it's got some code that prevents modeStack from getting so large, and all those set/leave functions from being called additional times. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some little bugs I haven't found, but I believe this should fix your power-up delays.
