My first message was not clear because I didn't realize that I didn't need to run slimserver on the machine that I am running squeezesoft. Sorry for the confusion.
Here's where I am now. If I type in my home IP address including the 9000 into a web browser, slimserver comes up and I can see my entire music collection. However, if I configure softsqueeze with that same IP address it just hangs with the message "Please wait..connecting to slim server." Any thoughts as to why it can't connect? I am behind a proxy at my office but I don't know if that makes a difference.
