There is an incompatibility between the Cdplayer plug-in and the latest version of iTunes (8.0.2) on Mac OS X 10.5.5. When you insert an audio CD, iTunes takes control of the drive and wont let go as long as the audio CD is physically present. There used to be a system preference to ignore audio cds as they are inserted. That preference is still selectable but it remains overridden by iTunes' behavior. Please, if anyone knows of a workaround to this situation...
