I understand what you were trying to do but the thread had already gone off in 3 different directions and had become unrelated to the topic title. Since there was now a more focussed thread progressing your QNAP issue through fresh ideas, I felt it was better to keep QNAP related problem in one thread and leave this thread to the last problem.
