I use IDv2.3 for mp3 in my library. I also use genpuid to scan music and store the MusicIP data in the tags. This has the advantage that all that analysis time is stored in the file and that to reinstall musicip, or whatever, the rescan is quick.
genpuid hasn't done any damage to the tags in my mp3s or flacs so quite happy with it. MusicIP's import is not worth it. Only use scan for mixable status.
