I give up & give in. Nothing I hear says why rrand experiences
problems with wavin but not other flacs. Network problems presumably
apply in either case. If he has problems with wavin, there's an issue
related to (but not necessarily caused by) wavin. It may be a general
problem but there's got to be a reason why it manifests itself to the
listener with one sort of traffic and not another.

As far my wavin problem was concerned I could see the flac message
being sent from the PC to the Touch (by looking at the Microsoft
Network Monitor, and graphically using Task Manager, and by process
activity). I could play a 30 second track. See the data go out. Wait
for the Touch to play it, and see no more data being sent after the
first batch. The Touch just didn't play them for tens of seconds up to
2 minutes (at one point I thought the data could be going out to the
internet and back in, but I proved that wasn't true).

I'm well aware no one believes me (except for me myself), but I
repeated the experiment and I believe in the evidence. I just don't
have a theory to explain it, nor to explain my solution. :-)

Life is full of surprises. Just as well really.
