Managed to get it working. Here are the steps I followed, some packages
may not be necessary but haven't figured out the essentials yet. Will
try it on any server.

> apt-get install build-essential libssl-dev libcrypt-openssl-rsa-perl
libao-dev libio-socket-inet6-perl libwww-perl avahi-utils pkg-config
> git clone https://github.com/DSTMK/shairport_helper
> git clone https://github.com/DSTMK/shairport_plugin
> cd shairport_helper/
> make
> cp shairport_helper /usr/local/bin/
-Then edit the Plugin.pm and change line 33 from "hairtunes" to
"shairtunes_helper" and install the plugin.-
