Thanks garym for the reply.
I managed to find the 3rd party app. It doesn't work for me. From the
log:
[13:15:35.368199] main:448
/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/arm-linux/spotifyd
2.3.8 started ( libspotify: 12.1.51.g86c92b43 Release Linux-armv5 )
[13:15:38.405503] log_message:81 log: 11:15:38.405 I
[offline_authorizer.cpp:297] Unable to login offline: no such user

Should I disable the "official" Spotify app? It doesn't seem to make any
difference.
Do I still need a premium account for it to work, given the recent
relaxation in Spotify's usage conditions? The log message "Unable to
login offline: no such user" makes me think that a premium account is
still needed.
