When the XML feed that the BBCiPlayer plugin uses was first created by
BBC it was done for other vendors and IIRC it took some persuasion by
Triode to allow Triode use it for the plugin. I think the BBC is an
organisation which likes dealing with other organisation and vendors.
With an organisation or vendor you can have confidentiality agreements
and other agreements which can have consequences when broken - not so
with communities or individuals.
