Yes it is just the Arm7 Synology NAS products that have some kind of
"permissions" problem with ffmpeg.  In fact the RPi Version 2 uses an
Arm7 processor and works fine.

Squeezeplug / Max2play is a Debian distro and works well with Arm7 in
the RPi V2.  Thinking of getting one myself as they are so cheap!
