Michael,

when used with streaming services (that is: with music outside my own
library), SmartMix has a tendency to drift more and more towards
mainstream over time so that whatever I start with, in the long run I
end up with mixes that have very little genre variety (not within the
mix but between different mixes).
As an example: when I start a mix with, say, Missy Elliott, it starts
with some Hip Hop but then inevitably drifts towards R&B and after a
dozen tracks or so I end up with Beyonce. Nothing against Beyonce but
that's not what I intended when I started...

It's pretty similar whatever I start with. There are a few main genre
groups that it typically doesn't leave, so it won't go to 80s Pop from
R&B or to R&B from Indy Rock but it always tends towards "big" genres,
even if I start with somewhat more distinct.

I assume this is due to TEN's algorithms which probably prefer songs
that get played more often but is there maybe a way to counter it? If I
start in a specialized Genre I would like to stay there and not drift
into something else.
