Thanks - I had a look before at the HLS URLs / m3u8 when the timing
delay was noted.  I don't have any iOS device so no BBCiPlayer App and
so can't work out if BBC has a skip back on HLS  and if so how it works.
That said, AFAICT HLS skipback will be a custom BBC mashup whereas DASH
is a international standard - one of the many reason I don't want to
"maintain" the HLS implementation.
Intersting about your timing - when I tested the HLS playback through
BBCiPlayer and got the same delay as MP3 or a little worse.
