Paolo,

if there will be more contributions in the future I will think again
about using CVS. I tested it once and found it a bit tedious. It's not
currently one of the most important things for me. I will have to remove
some bugs and finalize some work, maybe once, with pm 2.0 ready, we
could discuss it again.

I have also quite a few ideas what I would like to bring into p.mapper,
not all might be straightforward. And I don't know if there will be
volunteers for it...

BTW: I tested the functionality of the VMWare Player as virtual machine
and it works quite well. One can easily deploy a full running Linux
engine with all Mapserver libs and tools compiled. Just need then to
install the VM Player software (Win and Linux available) and start the
virtual machine, and everything works fine. At least for testing quite
helpful and you do not need all the time another Linux machine, just a
virtual one inside your current OS. Speed etc. is quite good. If I will
have made some clean up of pmapper I could provide it with Mapserver on
a Debian VM for download (but it's something like 600 MB).
