I felt i didnt need to go into spacifics with the oil issue and
politics/culture. It should be pretty obvious to anyone with a pair of working
eyes and a brain that can put together a simple sentence.
Oil addiction makes us dependent on our cultural..the IslamoFascists. DUH!
Last time i checked everyone was against them Proletarian and Bourgeois.
Lenin's NEP was limited in scope and created the "Kulak" class that
eventually tried to disrupt the building of socialism in the USSR by disrupting
food distribution. This was necessary however in that the semi-feudial Russian
Empire which was the backbone of the USSR needed to modernize its agriculture
but the NEP began to build capitalism in the USSR and this was not the
objective. Socialist construction and planning finally Industrialized the
USSR, Indeed it industrialized the PRC too.

You stopped before you got to the political,
cultural/social
and evironmental fields. Let's hear your ideas on
them, as well.
Capitalism is well-known for its ability to get
things done,
hell-for-leather, devil-take-the-hindmost,
I've-got-mine-how're-
you-doing! Lenin was getting into his New Economic
Policy, limited capitalism under the control of the
workers' parties, to
help bring a semi-feudalist Russian Empire into an
industrialized
Soviet Union, when he died, suspiciously young. China
may be trying that now -- only time will tell. It is
certainly developing rapidly, but will the capitalist
tail end up wagging the Chinese Communist dog?
What happens when Capitalism developes to the
point when, for
example, one country has the facilities to feed the
world, when another country has ability to produce
enough medicine to cure most of the ills of the world,
when automation can produce enough
consumer goods so that no one needs to do without, and
so on?
There is clearly no need for whizz-bang capitalism,
when we can
leisurely produce enough for all so that we can all
settle down to
spend our lives in sports, arts, music, space
exploration, literature, science, or (in the case of
Hank Roth,) perfecting the interNUT! Well, the
capitalists, if they are in charge, will
welcome emergencies, (such as Katrina,) where they can
make a buck off the chaos; or they may even FABRICATE
a few chaos, where they can fix things up at their own
speed and for their own price,
such as, let's say, for example, Iraq, Serbia,
Croatia, Albania,
Panama, Cuba, Haiti, the Philippines, Grenada,
Afghanistan, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Chile,
Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia,
Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and -- who knows? Maybe even
Iran! Syria!
North Korea! Jawohl!! Today, the red states, tomorrow
DAS WELT!!
