Hi, I already asked for some blacklist option for parentProxy, that is a list of hosts forwarded DIRECT, not to parentProxy (-> Subject "Exceptions for parentProxy").
Now while I was looking for Addons for the Firefox browser to set site- specific proxies, I encountered the PAC configuration, no need for add-ons. PAC offers some scripting for site specific proxying, usually deployed via DHCP using WPAD: http://findproxyforurl.com/example-pac-file/ Now I set the browser to use some local PAC file where I do that filtering. But only few applications can use that, while the rest like wget uses http_proxy. PAC support is appropriate for proxy clients, so I'm not sure how other proxies are dealing with that, Using parentProxy any proxy itself is also a proxy client. Supporting PAC by polipo would ease the forwarding.
