My answer is not only "no", but "hell no"! The teachers' unions have shown 
time and time again that they don't give a shit about the students. It's 
always about the money. And no, I don't see how they could be modified to 
not be a bunch of greedy, self-interested radical ideologues who protect 
teachers who can't teach, and even those who molest children in some cases, 
from losing their jobs.
