Murder in the 1st degree requires premeditation. The ONLY hard
evidence in this case to support premeditation is "honor killing."
Once you eliminate (excuse) honor killing, you reduce the crime to one
of passion, that is, murder in the 2nd degree. Therefore, by removing
honor killing as the motive, you defend the murderer, uphold Sharia,
and bow to Islam.
Meanwhile, go back to your phone book, every criminal defense lawyer
listed will employ Sharia... if the price is right.
And for a few more dollars, guarantee manslaughter.
Of course, the first step is to eliminate honor killing from the legal
equation... across the board. That even the mention, "honor killing,"
will prompt a mistrial.
