Doc, I was raised 6 months of the year in Toledo (shithole) Ohio (love Lake
Erie though and saw the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland burn,)

and 6 months of the year in the " Landwirtschaft des Gebiets" (farming area)
of Mainz, Germany. (drank wine as a kid cause the water was really bad...in
every sense).

I learned self reliance as an adult because I saw the world falling apart
and had visited the food "distribution camps".

And yes, as an adult I chose where to live based on what my needs would be
(not what my "comfort zone" was). I am sorry that so many people don't have
the fortitude to make such choices based on the reality of their situations.

Change is the ONLY constant.
