obviously you do not understand the definition... our Republic follows the Constitution - while a democracy is not bound by any laws = they can change the Constitution. it's not about having laws, it's about a CHARTER of laws that cannot be broken by majority rule. for example the 10 Commandments cannot be broken - although the Church may hold a democratic vote on whether or not to spend money on a new pipe organ.
