Based on liberal democracy. Your problem is that you refuse to differentiate between what something is named and what it's roots are. Without the roots, you have nothing but a Constitutional dictatorship that calls itself a Republic. The United States relies on representative democracy, but [its] system of government is much more complex than that. [It is] not a simple representative democracy, but a constitutional republic in which majority rule is tempered by minority rights protected by law. The US Republic is based on democracy, it is not a pure Democracy or a pure Republic. Hence, you do not know what you are talking about.
