She gave him a quick kiss and waited for the others to be loaded in,
suggesting that Alex take another car to follow so they wouldn't all be
relying on one vehicle.
"Save my spot until after we get you checked out, Mister Boyle," Julia then
teased Nick before going to the driver's side and slipping in, starting the
engine before reaching over to take his hand in hers and looking back at the
ones sitting in the backseat. Kay in Rachel's arms, Derek and Philip
sitting and waiting, and she drove off.
It was a matter of minutes, weather cleared up and sky turning a dusky color
of the coming evening when she reached the hospital, an additional half hour
as the guys and Rachel were checked in.
Julia went to the nurse's station to find out where they had taken everyone,
relaying the information about Rachel to Alex for Kat and Derek for.. well
for Alex although she didn't say it out loud, and then she asked for Nick's
location.
The nurse looked at her, having just come on her shift "Are you a family
member?"
Julia blinked "Does engaged count?"
The nurse looked at Julia's hand and then raised a gray eyebrow "Can you
prove it?"
"Look lady," Julia tapped the tips of her fingers on the waiting desk and
was actually ready to laugh again. She had just crossed paths with a demon
and the woman thought she was going to give Julia a hard time? "If you don't
tell me what room he's in, I"ll just call out to him until he answers. Tell
me where Nick Boyle is or everyone on this floor is going to be woken up."
