Derek looked at Julia and shook his head. He doubted he'd ever understand
the female mind.. truly he did.
He left the control room and had stopped by the room where the others were
in for an update before heading back downstairs. When he reached the
kitchen he looked at Dominic curiously, no one else being in there.
"They'll return shortly, Doctor Rayne." the butler answered with a grin as
he nodded for his employer to have a seat and serving him his usual mug of
coffee "You forgot this earlier so I made you a fresh cup."
"Thank you." Derek answered with a small grateful smile as he drank. Then
he got an idea. "Dominic, how long have you been married to Linda?"
"Comin' up on our 40th year." the man answered easily and with a small
smile, thinking of his wife.
Derek smiled and nodded congradulations "When will the occassion be?"
"Next Friday."
Derek made a note of that just as another vendor knocked at the door and
Anya came into the kitchen from the foyer area and went to go answer it.
"Let Julia know that everything is good to go if you would Doctor Rayne?"
Dominic asked, excusing himself to go deal with matters in the rest of the
house.
"Sure." he answered, taking another drink and watching Anya deal with the
vendor and lead him outside.
Then he was left with his own thoughts.....
Alex:
Alex looked up at Julia, "thank you," she said. "I should have known you're
blood hound nose would find her. Though I suppose that should have been the
first place i looked."
Alyssa:
Alyssa noticed Derek coming into the hall and took the opportunity to slip
away from Julia and over him. She tugged gently at his pant leg to get his
attention. "Did you really read all those books?"
