After the anouncement about Sloan came Alex looked back at her mentor.  "And
what do you want me to do about," she asked.  Not annoyed, but he was giving
her that look.  One she knew so well.

Derek caught himself, realizing that what he was feeling might have been
taken as if it had been directed toward her.

"Bury the evidence after I'm finished with Anya?" he said by way of a joke
before burying his reaction to having a total stranger not only make herself
at home in their House but to now try and cast doubt and even more trouble
on them.

Help or no help, he was more than willing to tell her that the aid was no
longer wanted nor welcome.

But.... he had to admit, had another Legacy member come back as Julia had
and he didn't know them.. he would probably have the same need for
verification.

That didn't mean he had to like it though.
