This would be hard to rationalize.  "Think of it as a hostage exchange,"
Soulchaser began.  "The easiest way for a damned soul to be pardoned from
hell is to get someone else to take it's place.  I've made the deal a few
times before."

"As for Nick," he said, looking over at him.  "I communicated with hell
concerning who the most suitable substitute.  His name came up."

Julia paused for a moment, considering her next words, but not before she
slid the Soulchaser a cool glare at what he had tried to do.

"Did Hell decide to make it known to you whether or not Jimmy Boyle was
supposed to be in Hell to begin with or not?"
