I avoid live albums; I find audience noise distancing. Instead of enjoying listening
to music, I find myself listening to other people enjoying listening to music, and
having a better time than I am, too boot. It spoils the auditory illusion for me,
somehow.
I'm not so hidebound that I won't make an exception for an especially legendary live
set, but all else being equal...
