An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop.rockymountains.net', Server:
'smtp.rockymountains.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 ', Port:
587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67

port 25 gives the same thing.

What I posted was the complete conversation with the server, it drops me
very quickly.

Only running Avast, no firewall or anyother security programs, can't stand
gooking up Windoze any more than it is!

When I disable avast outgoing mail scanning (per Evan Platt, thanks!)
everything works.

I believe avast is triggering postfix's concurrent limiting,
because I get the 421 error from the postfix server, not avast. When
avast sends a 421 error, it looks different.

I had read these posts while searching for a solution prior to posting here.

Thanks, sometimes it's better to be lucky than skilled!

I keep hoping one of the big guys on this list will point out some stupid
mistake I've made.
