As Viktor points out, building an HA mail server is not trivial. But we
can probably point you to HA docs, and mailing lists, relevant to your
mail server if we know what it is.
It's Dovecot 2.0. Planning to move to 2.1 soon (currently in test env).
We are using Dovecot LDA delivery (from Postfix). All servers are KVM
VMs (on a cloud where we don't have control on the host, but on highly
reliable hardware/networks). User accounts are LDAP-based.
We can have VMs on different clouds and we also have multiple
connections to the cloud(s) (to support HA).
Any directions will be appreciated. Hoping to design an HA architecture
but aiming to keep it simple and (as much as possible) easily
maintainable one.
