This is incorrect. If domain doesn't exist there should be no DNS zone
for this domain and none of WAN-accessible DNS server should
authoritatively host such zone. You are mixing domain existence with its
technical manifestation (which DNS system provides). Second one is
dependent on first one and this is strong dependence.

you shouldn't ask registrar database via whois tool (or whatever else
client) about domain's record/subdomain. But you can ask about domain
itself - if it doesn't exist and has no entry on proper cctld's registry
(EURid in this case) authoritative DNS servers then you can surely say
that subdomains of this domain are not.
