Aha. Had not tried that (hadn't seen that as a config. parameter). postconf -d config_directory => config_directory = /etc/postfix
So, despite the process itself saying it's using one directory, postconf reports a different one, the default. How would different postconf files account for that? Surely, they would both talk to the same running process to get the required info?
